I recently started to create my own music. I aim to focus on producing music for short films in order to help the local film community. Here is the link to my soundcloud where you can explore the different sounds. Right now I feel like my music has a experimental electronic futuristic feel to it but of course that will be ever evolving depending on the project.

Fiesta “Pinatas in the Barrio” Poster Artist 2019 & 2024

The dozens of colorful piñatas decorated the Plaza Guadalupe once again as the clouds over us held the rain at bay.  Nestled in the heart of the Westside of San Antonio, the decades old, Piñatas in the Barrio Fiesta event, will be once again taking over Plaza Guadalupe for their 27th Annual celebration April 20th 2024. Founded and organized by AUEDA (Action United for Entertainers and Diverse Artists).  Today is the official unveiling of this year’s Piñatas in the Barrio Fiesta poster and the anticipation has been building up all evening.   The ceremony begins promptly at 6pm and is filled with back to back entertainment from Mariachis to Flamenco dancers wearing their bright colored dresses.  It’s now time for the official unveiling as the special guest local artist is called to the stage to present his beautifully framed art piece.  Tomas is an award winning graphic design artist who enjoys creating everything from concert posters to album covers and has been involved in the San Antonio art and music scene for over two decades.  He received his graphic arts training at the Southwest School of Art & Craft.

The special thing about this particular event is that the poster is about to be auctioned off to the highest bidder and the proceeds go towards a scholarship for a student from the Westside neighborhoods of San Antonio.  Once the Rey Feo and the King and Queen of San Antonio are on stage the drum roll erupts and the drape is slowly lifted off.  The crowd can all finally see the vibrant and colorful featured art piece of the evening.  Cheers follow and the auction starts at $500. Higher and higher the bidding goes it seems like a long time.  A thousand, eleven hundred, two thousand.  After everything is said and done the winning big goes to a couple in the second row for the amount of $3000!  Everyone cheers. As the photographers take their photos and the DJ continues to play.  The chattering crowd starts to disperse as the workers begin to stack the chairs, you can see a glimpse of the moonlight shining on the glass frame of the art piece on stage.  The event was a success and we are all excited to know that next month, a young student will be awarded with a chance to use the gifted funds for a future education of their choosing.   We walk towards our vehicle with a smile on our faces and a feeling of happiness knowing that Fiesta San Antonio is right around the corner.

Viva Fiesta!
